What we do

Right now we are in the beginning stages of launching the Baltimore Collective and are purely digital. We do have some serious goals for the future though!

We will soon be launching the Bmore Collective Blog which will house the amazing work of our members along with webisodes on hair, style, makeup, photography, modeling, all things entrepreneurship as well as interviews and local features. It is a place where all of our work collectively has chances of going viral and reaching larger audiences outside of our modest city. In the future we see this becoming a digital magazine and then some day a physical magazine. All in do time.

We are extremely eager to launch our national + international exchange program where we partner with select agencies around the world who will wok one of our members into their production line up and arrange a certain amount of photo shoots during the specific time span of the exchange program. We will of course do the same and incorporate their agency member into our line up and introduce them to our city! Destinations currently in the pipeline are NYC, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and London. We find it extremely important and liberating to travel and work with other teams and cultures around the world. Gaining inspiration, professional contacts, portfolio development and so much more, we know this will be a highly sought after.

One day we look forward to opening a shared working space to headquarter the original Baltimore Collective and it's members. The space will be a place for members to pursue their freelance careers as well as Baltimore Collective projects. It will host our education seminars on business development, creative process, branding, website design, online brand presence etc. The space will have 3-4 studio spaces for photo shoots equipped with backdrops and studio lights. There will be a "styling lounge" with clothing racks, steamers, an inventory system and dry cleaning for garments will be included in membership fees. A "locker room" area will be designed for members to keep their own personal belongings and meeting spaces for client meetings will be included. There will be a "vanity room" area for hair and makeup artists to prep their shoots or partake in freelance work. We aim to have "recycled" laptops with must have industry programs like photoshop and illustration. We also plan to house a day care program as well! Our goal is to provide the talented professionals with the resources they need to feel empowered and to succeed at creating a thriving career as a creative entrepreneur.

Memberships will be in tiers so there is something affordable for everyone.

We can see the Baltimore Collective being the flagship location and franchising in other cities. We think it will be important to initially focus on up and coming cities where there is already a need for this creative community entrepreneurship program like "Bmore Collective Detroit", "Bmore Collective Philly", "Bmore Collective Portland", "Bmore Collective Denver" and then move onto more obvious cities like "Bmore Collective Los Angeles" and "Bmore Collective Miami".

WHO WE REPRESENT

Our members consist of photographers, videographers, creative directors, designers, wardrobe stylists, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, set designers, graphic designers, writers, production managers, lighting techs and photo retouchers.

We produce commercial campaigns, editorial fashion and beauty spreads for publications and photo series highlighting social justice issues throughout our city, throughout our nation and throughout our world. By traveling 3 months out of the year meeting with agencies, publications and select creative professionals nationally and internationally we are able to build relationships, create exposure and book clients on a global scale for our Baltimore Collective members.

Commercial Clients: A single photo shoot has an impressive socio-economic impact on the city as it generally employs anywhere from 15-20 creative professionals per shoot. Also important to us is increasing our members professional portfolios, references and testimonies as we know word of mouth is everything.

Publications: We create a yearly editorial calendar for publication submissions. These submissions will be a mix of beauty spread, fashion stories, portraiture series and product and still shots. The publications will be a mix of niche groups and styles from around the world; generating exposure and credibility for our members.

Social justice projects - Fashion for us is much more than the current trends. It is a form of art and helps support a visual narrative. We aim to point that visual narrative on national and international social justice issues and help impact a movement through our series. We are particularly focused on producing series on ethics in fashion and gender inequality issues like our series Milk. Click the pic.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Fashion Industry is the 2nd most polluting industry in the world.

Pay it forward

We are a female owned and operated creative agency aimed at empowering creative entrepreneurs in Baltimore, Maryland. Through commercial clients, editorial publications and independent social justice projects we are able to generate both income and exposure on a national and international level for the talented creative professionals in Baltimore city.

There are so many ways to pay for forward, here are just a few that we are working on right now.

Mentorship Program (Middle School + High School) - For select 'woke' inner city youth who have a desire to work in the creative field of fashion, photography or videography. They will be paired with a 'big brother' or 'big sister' Baltimore Collective member who will teach and guide them for a select period of time. They will have their own creative assignments as well as gain hands on experience on set. We will publish their work on the Bmore Collective blog as well as pitch to the appropriate publication. We would also display their work in the collective where their work can be on sale. We hope to influence and motivate our youth members and show them that they can create their own success through their creative passion. We feel strongly that this will also lead to future internship or job opportunities with our members.

Entrepreneurship Fellowship (College Students + Freelancers) - For up and coming creative business professionals who could benefit from a 6 month program. 3 months will be hands on industry experience, rotating from the different creative fields our members represent to gain insight on what each job entails and how they all connect to build a brand. The last 3 months will be dedicated to taking their business or product to the next level through visuals, branding, and business development. This fellowship provides complimentary membership package and access to all the resources that entails. We want to help you build your brand and connect with other creative entrepreneurs who knows what it takes to get their business off the ground. Our teams will benefit from building case studies on their portfolio of business branding (graphic designers, photographers, product shots, models, videographers etc) and the fellowship awardee will walk away with an entire brand built and ready to launch. It is a win win for all.

We eventually would like to donate a portion of the membership fees and commercial sales to a grant for a female creative. We know this may be a 3 year goal or maybe this is something that happens every few years but we find it very important to support and empower women of all ages through this grant opportunity.
